The Central government has appointed Prabhari officers to work in collaboration with state government officials and the district administration at the grassroots level to strengthen the ecosystem for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The senior officers at JS/AS level have been appointed as Prabhari officers. The Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet said: “The Prabhari Officers will lead a team of officers from banks, EPFO, ECIS, SIDBI, DICs, etc., and will work in close collaboration with the state government officials and the district administration at the ground level for coordinating the efforts in achieving complete realisation of the target in respect of the following deliverables identified to promote MSMEs.”
The government will also focus more on issues such as ease and access to credit, ease of cash flow, access to the market, coverage of employees under social security benefits, quality certification and sectoral ministry interventions.
Steps are also being taken to establish a comprehensive database and an efficient feedback mechanism, said the secretariat. It has also directed the Department of Financial Services to take further action in the matter.
