Technology Innovation for Midsized Enterprises (TIME²), a wing of Society for Innovation and Development (SID) by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), is conducting the 2nd edition of TIME2LEAP Summit on November 24, 2018 at the IISc Campus in Bengaluru.
The event seeks to reach out to SMEs across the country to discuss business growth, develop technologies, innovate platforms and launch new products in collaboration with the institute. With this summit, TIME² is bringing together SMEs to interact with experts, scientists and industrialists who have collaborated with the IISc.
Yatishwar Dravid, Head TIME² said, “Some of the SMEs with us in the programme have been able to achieve radical change in their business direction - from category diversification, exploiting adjacent markets, and applying ready technologies to potentially generate new revenue streams. SME owners who register at the TIME2LEAP summit have a chance to be selected to collaborate with TIME² for the next round of our activities that can help them reach greater heights.”
Last year’s summit saw participation from 50 delegates. Here, programmes through which SME’s can leverage IISc’s strengths to transform their business were discussed. As a result, several companies came forward and were selected by TIME² to partner with the IISc through the year. This time, TIME² is taking a step forward where partner companies are going to share their experience of working with TIME² and help other SMEs understand the value of the association, according to the organisers.
Gurumoorthy, Chief Executive, SID, IISc, said, “With TIME², we intend to work with mid-sized enterprises across the country and collaborate with them to develop innovative solutions impacting the society. We would like to invite them to work with us and use the knowledge, expertise and variety of resources that IISc has, to the benefit of their businesses. This summit will give a glimpse of how visionary SMEs can leverage IISc for technology enabled growth”.
TIME² works with mid-sized enterprises to put them on a disruptive growth path via technology, product and business innovation. TIME² follows an approach of collaborating with manufacturing industries at the commencement of the engagement, so that real world experience of the business is utilised to build products and take them to market.
