With an aim to boost networking and scaling up of businesses in the state, the 13th edition of Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX 2018) will be held in Amritsar from December 6 to 10, 2018. A large number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been invited to participate in the fair.
The event is being organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Government of Punjab, and is being supported by various government and trade bodies. These include the Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Ministry of Food Processing, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Shawl Club, Textiles Manufacturers Association (TMA), Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC), and many more.
The expo is expected to see a high number exhibitors, media, business and government delegations from India and abroad. The organisers expect attendees to include entrepreneurs and CEOs, directors, builders, defence personnel, engineers, students, technicians, etc.
Major industry sectors such as tourism, healthcare, handloom and handicraft, auto, food and agriculture, etc will be covered at the event. The fair will be held at Ranjit Avenue, Ajnala Road, Amritsar, Punjab and cover an area of over 10,000 square meters.
According to the organisers, the advantage for exhibitors include sales, marketing and networking opportunities, product launches, brand building, demonstrations, potential partnerships, promotional schemes, and more.
The 2017 edition of the expo saw over three lakh visitors and saw participation from Pakistan, Thailand, Egypt, UAE, South Africa, Australia, and many more countries. Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) worth over Rs 2,258 crore were signed at the fair, making it one of the most popular expos in North India.
